Inspired by the sturdy chains adorning the French port of Saint Malo - a fortified city once home to French pirates during the middle ages, the Saint Malo chain necklace is a bespoke handmade chain. Each one of the links is created from the moulds of two hand-sculpted original links, creating an alternating SOS pattern.
Cast in 18 carat gold plated bronze or recycled sterling silver, the links are lightly polished retaining the texture of the natural wax. Each piece is assembled by hand in-house.

The brand
Ruddock was founded by Sarah Ruddock, a London-based jeweller, in 2016.
Each Ruddock jewellery piece is handcrafted and hand-finished using the age-old technique of lost wax casting. Every item of unique jewellery is proudly brought to life in London and Sarah works exclusively with local, family run businesses that use traditional jewellery-making techniques.
Ruddock is committed to creating as little waste as possible, meaning that the brand's necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets are made from recycled gold, silver, or bronze, and produced in small batches or on a made to order basis.

Before launching Ruddock, Sara was a fashion buyer. She has an affinity for minimalist and modernist sculptural forms and designs interesting, timeless pieces with a fuss-free spirit around these pillars.

All Ruddock designs are handmade locally in London by Sarah Ruddock, founder of Ruddock, and talented craftspeople with expertise in traditional jewellery-making techniques.
Pieces are created using the ancient technique of lost wax casting, a process where Sarah carves designs in wax before they are created into solid metal jewellery.
Recycled sterling silver, gold, and bronze
As a conscious and sustainable jewellery brand, Ruddock exclusively uses recycled sterling silver, gold, and bronze in their designs.
Local suppliers
The casting, finishing, polishing, plating, and hallmarking are all carried out within walking distance of each other in Islington and Hatton Garden, London's historic jewellery quarter.
Handmade chains
Many of Ruddock's chains are handmade and assembled in-house. All other chains along with findings and clasps are supplied by Cooksongold, which is a trusted supplier and member of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
